The Free & Online - 8 Hour Online MAT Waiver Training activity will assist physicians who wish to apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorders. In accordance with the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA), PAs must complete 24 hours of specialized training to prescribe buprenorphine, one of three medications approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid use disorder. This activity will allow PAs to fulfill the 8 hour portion of the 24 hour MAT waiver training requirement.
