This evidence-based, referenced, online Addiction e-Practice Test is a comprehensive evaluation and assessment tool for addiction medicine knowledge. It is designed to prepare physicians for certification or recertification in addiction medicine. The practice test includes 187 questions addressing all 17 core content areas of the American Board of Preventive Medicine Addiction Medicine examination. Feedback regarding correct and incorrect answers is provided upon completion of the practice test regardless of a passing rate. Users have unlimited retake opportunities.

NOTE: once you are logged in you must first review the Welcome and Affirmation, then you can access the practice test. A checkmark will appear as you complete the necessary steps. Refer to the 'Course FAQ' under 'Course Details' for helpful tips.

CME: 18.5 credits available upon completion of an evaluation. To complete an evaluation, users must pass at 70%.

Some helpful tips:

Allocate approximately 2-3 hours of time if you intend to answer all 187 questions in one sitting. You can stop at any time and come back to where you left off. Your work will be saved.
Treat this examination as you would at the actual testing center (minimize distractions, find a quiet place, be well rested). There is no time limit to complete the practice test.
The practice test addresses all 17 core content areas included in the American Board of Preventive Medicine Addiction Medicine certification examination.
When you have reached the final question (#187), you will be asked to ANSWER & SUBMIT. A popup message will appear asking if you are sure you want to proceed. If you are ready to submit your answers for an assessment summary, select CONFIRM. You will receive immediate results.
- Select VIEW RESULTS to review all answers (correct and incorrect).
- If you did not pass, you can take the practice test again when you are ready by selecting Table of Contents, then select Practice Test / RETRY to begin again. Once you re-start the test, you will need to answer each question again, not just the incorrect questions.
- You have unlimited retake opportunities.
Upon passing at a minimum of 70% you can proceed to the EVALUATION page.
An Evaluation must be completed to earn CME for the activity. Credit is issued one time only regardless of how many times you complete the test. Your certificate is emailed to you immediately upon completion of the Evaluation.
